Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts from the box. Assembly requires basic tools (included: wrench).

  1. Attach the handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install the upper handle: Connect to lower handle, secure with provided hardware.
  3. Attach the grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets; ensure it clicks into place.
  4. Install the mulch plug (if mulching): Insert into rear discharge opening.
  5. Check wheel installation: Ensure all wheels are securely fastened and rotate freely.
  6. Add oil and fuel: Use SAE 30 motor oil (approx. 20 oz) and unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Do not add fuel indoors or near ignition sources. Assemble on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Clear mowing area: Remove stones, toys, and other objects that could be thrown.
  2. Check fuel: Fill outdoors, away from sparks or flames. Wipe up spills immediately.
  3. Inspect mower: Ensure blade is sharp and secure, all parts are tight, and no damage exists.
  4. Start safely: Firmly grip handle, set engine control to FAST, pull starter cord smoothly.
  5. Operate carefully: Push mower forward; do not pull backward or mow in reverse.
  6. Stop engine: Release blade control handle to stop blade; turn fuel valve OFF for storage.

DANGER! Keep hands and feet away from rotating blade. Never remove grass bag or unclog chute with engine running.

Controls and Operation

Main controls: Blade control handle (deadman switch), throttle control, primer bulb, recoil starter grip.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Press primer bulb 3 times (cold engine).
  3. Set throttle control to FAST position.
  4. Hold blade control handle against handlebar.
  5. Pull starter cord briskly until engine starts.

Stopping: Release blade control handle to stop blade. Move throttle to STOP position. Turn fuel valve OFF if storing.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single lever adjusts all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward.
  3. Move lever to desired position (1=lowest, 6=highest).
  4. Release lever to lock into place.
  5. Check that all wheels are at same height.

Tip: For first mow of season or very tall grass, use highest setting, then lower for second pass.

3-in-1 Function Setup

Configure for mulching, bagging, or side discharge.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug in rear discharge opening. Remove grass bag and side chute.
  2. Bagging: Remove mulch plug. Attach grass bag to rear brackets. Ensure chute is closed.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove mulch plug and grass bag. Attach side discharge chute to deck opening.

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing cutting functions. Ensure all attachments are securely installed.
