Controls and Operation

Primary controls located on handle. Engine Controls: Throttle lever (FAST/SLOW/STOP), Recoil starter grip. Mower Controls: Blade control lever (must be held for blade rotation), Drive control lever (engages rear wheels), Height adjustment lever.

Starting Procedure: 1. Move throttle to FAST. 2. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine). 3. Hold blade control lever against handle. 4. Pull recoil starter briskly.

Stopping: Release blade control lever OR move throttle to STOP.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single lever adjusts all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward and move to desired position (1, 2, or 3).
  3. Release lever to lock into place.
  4. Verify all wheels are at same height by checking deck level.

Tip: For first mow of season or very tall grass, use highest setting, then lower for subsequent passes.

Mulching & Bagging

2-in-1 system: Install plug for mulching; remove plug for side discharge/bagging.

  1. Mulching: Insert mulching plug fully into discharge chute. Cuts clippings finely and returns them to lawn as fertilizer.
  2. Bagging: Remove mulching plug. Attach grass bag to rear brackets. Empty bag when full (indicator window shows level).
  3. Side Discharge: Remove mulching plug and grass bag for side discharge (use in tall/wet grass).

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing cutting mode. Keep hands away from discharge chute.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

IntervalTask
Before each useCheck oil level, inspect blade, clear deck of debris
Every 5 hoursCheck tire pressure, inspect for loose hardware
Every 25 hoursChange engine oil, clean/replace air filter, sharpen blade
Every seasonReplace spark plug, clean underside of deck, lubricate wheels
As neededReplace grass bag if torn, check drive belt tension

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Run engine to burn remaining fuel in carburetor OR add fuel stabilizer to full tank.
  2. Change engine oil (dirty oil contains acids that can damage engine).
  3. Remove spark plug, add 1 tablespoon of oil to cylinder, pull starter cord slowly to coat cylinder wall, reinstall plug.
  4. Clean entire mower, especially underside of deck.
  5. Store in dry place, cover with breathable fabric (not plastic).

CAUTION! Never store mower with gasoline in tank indoors or near open flame.

Safety Information

Read and understand all safety instructions before operation.
