Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle, tighten knobs.
  3. Attach grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets.
  4. Install side discharge chute (if not mulching): Snap into place on right side.
  5. Add engine oil: Use SAE 30 (approx. 20 oz) – check dipstick.
  6. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Do not add gasoline during assembly. Keep away from sparks or flames.

Safety Guidelines

  2. Never mow wet grass – risk of slipping and clogging.

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Throttle lever, drive control bar, height adjust lever.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Prime engine: Press primer bulb 3 times (cold engine).
  3. Set throttle to FAST position.
  4. Pull recoil starter firmly.

Stopping: Release drive control bar, move throttle to STOP, wait for blade to stop.

Driving: Squeeze drive control bar against handle to engage self-propel (if equipped). Release to stop movement.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment for all four wheels.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop.
  2. Pull height adjust lever outward.
  3. Move lever to desired position (1-6).
  4. Release lever to lock in place.

Height Settings: 1 (1.25"), 2 (1.75"), 3 (2.25"), 4 (2.75"), 5 (3.25"), 6 (3.75").

Tip: For first mow of season, set to highest position; gradually lower.

Mulching & Bagging Setup

Mulching: Install mulch plug (included). Grass is cut finely and returned to lawn as fertilizer.

Bagging: Attach rear bag. Ensure chute deflector is raised.

Side Discharge: Remove mulch plug and bag; install side discharge chute.

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing grass management mode.
