Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Insert lower handle into deck brackets, secure with provided bolts.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle, tighten wing nuts.
  3. Attach grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets.
  4. Install mulching plug: Insert into rear discharge opening when mulching.
  5. Add engine oil: Fill with SAE 30 detergent oil (check dipstick).
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Always wear gloves during assembly. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete pre-operation checks.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Check fuel: Fill tank with fresh unleaded gasoline.
  3. Inspect blade: Ensure cutting blade is sharp and securely fastened.
  4. Adjust cutting height: Set lever to desired position (recommend 2.5-3 inches for first mow).
  5. Test start: Pull starter cord slowly until resistance, then briskly to start engine.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjusts all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever toward wheel.
  3. Move lever to desired position (1-6, lowest to highest).
  4. Release lever to lock in position.

Recommended Heights: Bermuda grass: 1.5-2 inches. Fescue: 2.5-3.5 inches. First mow of season: Set to highest position.

Mulching & Bagging

Mulching: Install mulching plug in rear discharge opening. Engine must run at full throttle for proper mulching. Best for dry grass under 3 inches.

Bagging: Remove mulching plug, attach grass bag. Empty bag when 2/3 full for best performance.

Side Discharge: Remove both mulching plug and grass bag for side discharge operation.

Tip: Keep underside of deck clean for optimal performance.

Safety Features

Blade control bail: Must be held to keep blade rotating. Releases automatically if let go. Engine kill switch: Stops engine if control bail is released. Protective deck: Shields blade from contact. Safety labels: Read and follow all warning labels.
