Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts and inspect for damage. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Handle Assembly: Attach lower handle to deck using provided bolts. Connect upper handle and secure with knobs.
  2. Wheels: Slide wheels onto axles and secure with hairpin clips or nuts.
  3. Discharge Chute/Bag: Attach discharge chute or mulch plug as desired. Connect grass bag to rear brackets.
  4. Controls: Connect blade control cable to engine bracket. Adjust for proper tension.
  5. Add Oil & Fuel: Fill engine with SAE 30 oil (check dipstick). Add fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

Starting:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine).
  3. Set throttle to FAST position.
  4. Pull blade control handle to handlebar.
  5. Pull starter rope briskly.

Mowing: Adjust height lever before starting. Engage blade control to spin blade. Push mower at walking pace. For bagging, attach bag; for mulching, install plug; for side discharge, attach chute.

Stopping: Release blade control handle. Move throttle to STOP. Wait for all parts to stop before leaving mower.

Maintenance Schedule

  3. Spark Plug: Clean with wire brush, gap to 0.030". Replace annually.
  4. Fuel System: Use fresh gasoline. Add fuel stabilizer for storage. Clean fuel cap vent.

WARNING! Engine and oil become hot during operation. Allow to cool before servicing.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents corrosion and starting issues.

  1. Run engine to burn off remaining fuel, or add fuel stabilizer to full tank and run for 5 minutes.
  2. Change oil at end of season.
  3. Remove spark plug, add 1 tablespoon of oil into cylinder, pull starter slowly to coat, reinstall plug.
  4. Clean entire mower, especially underside. Touch up any scratches with paint.
  5. Store in dry, covered area. Protect from moisture.

CAUTION! Never store mower with fuel in tank indoors or in enclosed spaces without proper ventilation.
