Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts and inspect for damage. Assemble on a flat, clear surface.

  1. Attach Handle: Bolt upper handle to lower brackets using provided hardware.
  2. Install Wheels: Slide axles through deck brackets, secure with washers and clips.
  3. Attach Bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets; ensure secure fit.
  4. Install Mulching Plug: Insert plug into rear discharge chute if mulching.
  5. Add Oil & Gas: Fill engine with SAE 30 oil (check dipstick); add unleaded gasoline.

WARNING! Wear gloves during assembly. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete final checks and adjustments.

  1. Check Oil Level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Add Fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline; do not overfill.
  3. Adjust Handle Height: Set to comfortable position and tighten knobs.
  4. Set Cutting Height: Adjust lever to desired setting (middle position recommended).
  5. Test Start: Pull recoil starter slowly until resistance, then briskly to start.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Move throttle to FAST position.
  2. Prime engine (if equipped) by pressing bulb 3 times.
  3. Pull recoil starter briskly.
  4. To engage self-propel (if equipped), squeeze drive control bar to handle.

Stopping: Release drive bar; move throttle to STOP. Wait for blade to stop completely.

Cutting & Height Adjustment

Adjust cutting height based on grass condition and season.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward and move to desired position.
  3. For mulching: Install mulching plug; ensure bag is removed.
  4. For bagging: Attach bag; remove mulching plug.
  5. For side discharge: Remove plug and bag; attach side discharge chute.

Tip: Cut when grass is dry. Never remove more than 1/3 of grass height at once.
