Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts from the box. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach the handle: Align lower handle sections with mounting brackets on the deck. Secure with provided bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install the upper handle: Connect upper handle to lower sections, tighten all hardware.
  3. Attach the grass bag: Hook the bag frame onto the rear deck brackets; ensure it clicks into place.
  4. Install the side discharge chute (if not mulching): Attach to the side port.
  5. Check wheel alignment: Ensure all wheels are securely fastened and rotate freely.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, perform these steps.

  1. Add engine oil: Remove oil fill cap/dipstick, add SAE 30 detergent oil (approx. 20 oz.) to the "Full" mark.
  2. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum). Fill tank to 1/2 inch below neck.
  3. Check tire pressure: Inflate all tires to 15 PSI.
  4. Test controls: Engage and release the blade control handle; ensure engine stop lever functions.
  5. Start engine: Set throttle to "Fast", pull recoil starter firmly.

CAUTION! Never add oil to the gasoline. Operate outdoors only.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Adjust height before starting the mower.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull the height adjustment lever outward.
  3. Move lever to desired position (1-6, lowest to highest).
  4. Release lever to lock into place.
  5. Check that all wheels are at the same height.

Tip: For first cut of season or tall grass, use a higher setting.
