Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assemble on a flat, stable surface.

  1. Attach handle: Secure upper and lower handle sections with provided bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install grass bag: Attach bag frame to rear deck brackets; hang bag on frame.
  3. Connect drive cable: Attach self-propel drive cable to handle lever and transmission.
  4. Install side discharge chute (if not pre-installed): Snap into place on deck opening.
  5. Add engine oil: Fill with SAE 30 detergent oil (check dipstick for level).
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (no more than 10% ethanol).

WARNING! Wear gloves during assembly. Ensure all bolts are tightened securely.

First-Time Setup

Starting Procedure:

Self-Propel: Squeeze drive lever to handle to engage; release to disengage.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjusts all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop.
  2. Pull lever outward and move to desired position (1-6).
  3. Release lever to lock in place.
  4. Positions: 1 (1.5") - 6 (3.75").

Tip: For healthier grass, never cut more than 1/3 of grass height at once.

3-in-1 Function Setup

Configure for mulching, bagging, or side discharge.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug in rear discharge opening. Ensure side discharge chute is removed.
  2. Bagging: Remove mulch plug. Attach grass bag to rear brackets.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove mulch plug and grass bag. Install side discharge chute.

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing configuration.
