Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts and inspect for damage. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle, tighten knobs.
  3. Attach grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets.
  4. Install side discharge chute: Snap into place on right side of deck.
  5. Add engine oil: Fill with 20 oz SAE 30 oil (check dipstick).
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

Safety Guidelines

  1. Clear mowing area of debris, rocks, and toys.
  2. Never operate barefoot or in open-toed shoes; wear sturdy footwear.

  4. Stop engine and disconnect spark plug before clearing blockages or performing maintenance.
  5. Do not mow on steep slopes (greater than 15 degrees).
  6. Never refuel a hot engine; wait at least 5 minutes.

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Engine control lever (must be held to run), drive control bar (self-propelled models only), height adjustment lever.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Prime engine (3-5 presses on primer bulb).
  3. Set throttle to FAST position.
  4. Pull recoil starter firmly.

Stopping: Release engine control lever. For emergency stop, release lever and move throttle to STOP.

Operating Tips: Mow when grass is dry. Overlap passes by 2-3 inches. Change mowing pattern weekly.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment controls all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and ensure blade has stopped.
  2. Pull lever outward and move to desired position (1-6).
