Controls and Adjustments

Main controls located on handle: Blade control lever, drive control lever, throttle control, height adjustment lever.

Blade Control Lever: Must be held against handle to keep blade engaged (deadman switch). Release to stop blade.

Drive Control Lever: Squeeze to engage self-propelled drive; release to disengage. Speed increases with engine throttle.

Height Adjustment: Single lever adjusts all four wheels simultaneously. 6 positions from 1" (lowest) to 3.5" (highest).

Throttle Control: FAST for mowing, SLOW for idling, STOP to shut off engine.

Maintenance Schedule

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends mower life.

  1. Before each use: Check oil level, inspect blade for damage, clear deck of debris.
  2. Every 25 hours: Change engine oil (or annually).
  3. Every 50 hours: Replace air filter, check spark plug.
  4. Every season: Sharpen or replace blade, clean underside of deck.
  5. Storage: Drain fuel or add stabilizer, clean thoroughly.

Tip: Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.

Cutting System Operation

3-in-1 system allows mulching, bagging, or side discharge.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug (closes side discharge). Grass is cut finely and returned to lawn as fertilizer.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bag to rear. Collects clippings for disposal.
  3. Side Discharge: Install discharge chute. Ejects clippings to side (right).
  4. Height Adjustment: For best results, never cut more than 1/3 of grass height at once.
  5. Blade Sharpness: Sharp blade provides cleaner cut, reduces strain on engine.

WARNING! Always stop engine and disconnect spark plug before changing cutting mode.

Safety Features

Blade Control Lever (Deadman Switch): Blade stops within 3 seconds of release. Engine Stop Control: Throttle lever to STOP position. Safety Labels: Read and understand all labels on mower. Protective Footwear: Always wear sturdy shoes while operating.

Storage & Winterization

Proper storage prevents fuel system issues and corrosion.

  1. Drain fuel or add stabilizer: Run engine for 5 minutes after adding stabilizer.
  2. Change oil: Replace with fresh oil before storage.
  3. Clean thoroughly: Remove grass, dirt from deck and underside.
  4. Remove spark plug: Add teaspoon of oil to cylinder, pull starter slowly to distribute.
  5. Store indoors: In dry, covered location, off ground.

CAUTION! Never store mower with gasoline in tank indoors unless stabilized.
