Assembly Guide

Follow these steps for safe and effective mowing.

  1. Pre-Start Check: Check oil level, fuel, and blade condition. Clear mowing area.
  2. Starting Engine: Set height lever. Push primer bulb 3 times. Pull recoil starter firmly.
  3. Mowing Technique: Walk at steady pace, overlapping passes slightly. Avoid mowing wet grass.
  4. Stopping Engine: Release engine control lever. Wait for blade to stop completely.
  5. Bagging/Mulching: Install appropriate kit. Empty bag frequently to maintain airflow.
  6. Slopes: Mow across slopes ≤15 degrees. Do not mow on slopes >15 degrees.

CAUTION! Never remove grass catcher or mulch plug while engine is running.

  2. Tip mower on side (air filter up). Block blade with wood wedge.
  3. Remove blade bolt (clockwise threads) using socket wrench.
  4. Sharpen blade at original angle using file or grinder. Balance blade.
  5. Reinstall blade with cutting edge toward ground. Torque bolt to 40 ft-lbs.

WARNING! Always wear heavy gloves when handling blade. Replace if cracked or bent.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents corrosion and starting problems next season.

  1. Run engine to burn off remaining fuel OR add fuel stabilizer and run 5 minutes.
  2. Change oil and replace spark plug.

  4. Store in dry, covered area. Protect from moisture and rodents.
  5. Remove battery (if electric start) and store separately.

CAUTION! Never store mower with fuel in tank indoors unless stabilized.
