Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts and inspect for damage. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with bolts and wing nuts.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle, secure with provided hardware.
  3. Attach grass bag: Hook bag frame onto rear deck brackets; ensure bag is secure.
  4. Install side discharge chute: If using, attach to deck opening with retaining pin.
  5. Add engine oil: Fill with SAE 30 detergent oil (check dipstick).
  6. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Do not add fuel or oil while engine is hot. Ensure all fasteners are tight before operation.

Safety Precautions

Always wear safety glasses, long pants, and sturdy shoes. Keep bystanders away.

  1. Clear mowing area of stones, toys, and other objects.
  2. Never mow wet grass or in poor visibility.
  3. Do not remove safety devices or guards.
  4. Stop engine and disconnect spark plug before unclogging or maintenance.
  5. Do not allow children to operate mower.
  6. Use extreme caution on slopes; mow across slopes, not up and down.

CAUTION! Gasoline is flammable. Store fuel in approved container away from ignition sources.

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Drive control lever (bail), height adjustment lever, recoil starter grip.

Starting Engine: 1. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine). 2. Set throttle to FAST. 3. Pull recoil starter firmly. Stopping Engine: Release drive bail, move throttle to STOP. Drive Control: Squeeze bail against handle to engage drive; release to stop. Height Adjustment: Move single lever to desired position (1-6).

Cutting & Height Adjustment

Select cutting mode: Bagging (install bag), Mulching (install mulch plug), Side Discharge (install chute).

  1. Adjust height before starting mower.
  2. For best results, mow when grass is dry.
  3. Do not cut more than 1/3 of grass height at one time.
  4. Overlap cutting rows slightly for even cut.
  5. Empty bag frequently to maintain performance.

Tip: Sharpen blade at least once per season for clean cut.

Engine Operation

Briggs & Stratton 190cc 4-cycle engine requires regular oil and air filter maintenance.

  1. Check oil level before each use; change after first 5 hours, then every 50 hours.
  2. Use fresh gasoline; add fuel stabilizer for storage over 30 days.
  3. Clean air filter every 25 hours; replace if damaged.
  4. Replace spark plug annually.
  5. Never run engine without air filter.

WARNING! Engine parts are hot during/after operation. Allow to cool before touching.
