Assembly Instructions

WARNING! Do not attempt to start engine before adding oil and gasoline. Keep hands and feet clear of moving parts during assembly.

Handle Controls: Drive control lever (engages rear-wheel drive), Height adjustment lever, Engine stop lever (must be held to run).

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Move height adjustment lever to desired position.
  3. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine).
  4. Set throttle control to FAST position.
  5. Hold engine stop lever against handle.
  6. Pull recoil starter cord briskly.

Stopping: Release engine stop lever; engine will stop. For emergency stop, release lever immediately.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Adjust cutting height to match grass conditions.

  3. Spark Plug: Disconnect wire, clean area, remove plug. Check gap (0.030 inches), replace if electrodes are worn.
  4. Fuel System: Use fresh gasoline. For storage over 30 days, add fuel stabilizer or drain tank and carburetor.

WARNING! Always disconnect spark plug wire before performing any engine maintenance.

Storage Guidelines

Proper storage prevents damage and extends mower life.

  1. Clean mower thoroughly, especially underside of deck.
  2. Drain or stabilize fuel: Run engine dry or add fuel stabilizer and run for 5 minutes.
  3. Change oil if due.
  4. Remove spark plug, add 1 teaspoon of oil into cylinder, pull starter cord slowly to distribute, reinstall plug.
