Assembly Instructions

  3. Attach mulching plug: Insert plug into discharge chute when mulching.
  4. Add oil and gasoline: Fill engine with SAE 30 oil (check dipstick) and unleaded gasoline.

WARNING! Keep hands and feet clear of cutting blade during assembly. Ensure all fasteners are tight.

First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete assembly and perform pre-operation checks.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline; do not overfill.
  3. Adjust cutting height: Set lever to desired height (recommend 3" for first mow).
  4. Test controls: Engage blade control lever and drive control to ensure proper operation.

CAUTION! Always operate outdoors in well-ventilated area. Keep children and pets away.

Specifications

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Blade control lever, drive control lever, height adjustment lever.

Starting: 1. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine). 2. Set throttle to FAST. 3. Pull recoil starter. Stopping: Release blade control lever; engine will stop.

Self-Propelled Operation: Squeeze drive control lever to handle to engage drive; release to stop. Speed is controlled by throttle setting.

Safety: Always release both levers to stop blade and drive. Do not mow on slopes greater than 15 degrees.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment changes height for all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward and move to desired position (1.5", 2", 2.5", 3", 3.5", 4").
  3. Release lever to lock into position.
  4. Test by rolling mower to ensure all wheels are at same height.

Tip: For healthier grass, never cut more than 1/3 of grass blade length at one time.

Mulching, Bagging & Side Discharge

3-in-1 system allows choice of cutting style.

  1. Mulching: Install mulching plug in discharge chute. Cuts clippings finely and returns to lawn as fertilizer.
  2. Bagging: Remove mulching plug, attach grass bag. Collects clippings for disposal.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove both plug and bag. Clippings discharge to side (use with optional grass deflector).

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing cutting mode. Ensure attachments are securely installed.
