First-Time Setup

Before first use, complete assembly and perform pre-operation checks.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure engine is on level surface; dipstick should show full.
  2. Add fuel: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane or higher). Do not overfill.
  3. Inspect blade: Ensure cutting blade is sharp and securely fastened.
  4. Adjust cutting height: Set lever to desired height (recommend 2.5-3 inches for first mow).

Specifications

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Drive control bar (squeeze to engage wheels), height adjustment lever, recoil starter grip.

Starting Procedure: 1. Push primer bulb 3 times (cold engine). 2. Set throttle to FAST position. 3. Pull recoil starter briskly. Stopping: Release drive bar, move throttle to STOP.

Operation Tips: Mow when grass is dry. Overlap passes by 2 inches. Change mowing pattern weekly. Never remove grass catcher or mulch plug while engine is running.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment controls all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward and move to desired setting.
  3. Release lever; ensure it locks into position.
  4. Recommended heights: 2.5-3 inches for most grasses; 1.5-2 inches for Bermuda/Zoysia.

Tip: Never set below 1.5 inches as it may scalp lawn and damage grass roots.

Mulching, Bagging & Discharge

3-in-1 system allows quick conversion between functions.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug in rear discharge opening. Cuts clippings finely and returns to lawn.
  2. Bagging: Remove mulch plug, attach grass bag. Collects clippings for disposal.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove mulch plug and bag; attach side discharge chute (optional).

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing cutting mode. Ensure attachments are secure.
