Assembly Instructions

Unpack and inspect all parts. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with provided bolts and washers.
  2. Install upper handle: Connect to lower handle using wing nuts.
  3. Attach grass bag: Slide bag frame onto rear deck hooks until it clicks into place.
  4. Install side discharge chute: Attach to discharge opening on right side of deck.
  5. Add engine oil: Fill with SAE 30 detergent oil (check dipstick for proper level).
  6. Add gasoline: Use fresh unleaded gasoline (87 octane minimum).

WARNING! Do not add gasoline during assembly. Keep away from sparks or flames.

First-Time Setup

Complete assembly, then prepare for first use.

  1. Check oil level: Ensure oil is at full mark on dipstick.
  2. Add fuel: Fill tank with fresh unleaded gasoline (no more than 1/2 inch from top).
  3. Adjust cutting height: Set lever to desired position (recommend 2.5-3 inches for first mow).
  4. Select discharge mode: Install appropriate attachment (bag, mulch plug, or side chute).
  5. Start engine: Place on level surface, set throttle to FAST, pull starter cord firmly.

CAUTION! Always start mower outdoors in well-ventilated area. Keep hands and feet clear of cutting deck.

  1. Mulching: Install mulch plug in discharge opening. Grass clippings are cut multiple times and returned to lawn as fertilizer.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bag to rear hooks. Ensures clean lawn appearance.
  3. Side Discharge: Install side discharge chute. Use for tall or wet grass.
