Controls and Operation

Main controls: Throttle control, recoil starter, drive control bail, height adjustment lever.

Starting Procedure:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Move throttle control to FAST position.
  3. Prime engine (if equipped) by pressing primer bulb 3 times.
  4. Pull starter cord briskly until engine starts.
  5. To engage self-propelled drive (if equipped), squeeze drive control bail to handle.

Stopping: Release drive bail, move throttle to STOP, wait for blade to stop completely.

Cutting Height Adjustment

Single-lever adjustment changes height for all four wheels simultaneously.

  1. Stop engine and wait for blade to stop.
  2. Pull height adjustment lever outward.
  3. Move lever to desired position (1-6).

3-in-1 system allows multiple clipping management options.

  1. Mulching: Install mulching plug in rear discharge. Grass clippings are cut finely and returned to lawn as fertilizer.
  2. Bagging: Attach grass bag to rear brackets. Clippings are collected for disposal.
  3. Side Discharge: Remove both mulching plug and grass bag. Clippings discharge from side chute.

WARNING! Always stop engine before changing discharge mode. Keep hands and feet away from discharge chute.

Safety Features

Blade brake clutch: Stops blade within 3 seconds when handle is released. Safety labels: Important warnings on deck and handle. Protective shield: Covers blade area when bag is removed.

Maintenance & Storage

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

CAUTION! Disconnect spark plug wire before performing any maintenance. Never store with fuel in tank for extended periods.
