Assembly Instructions

Unpack all parts from the box. Assembly requires basic tools (included).

  1. Attach the handle: Align lower handle with deck brackets, secure with provided bolts and wing nuts.

Controls and Operation

Handle Controls: Blade Control Bail (must be held to run), Drive Control Lever, Height Adjustment Lever.

Operation: To start, set throttle to FAST, prime engine (3-5 presses), pull starter cord. To engage self-propelled drive, squeeze drive control lever against handle. Release to stop drive. Release blade control bail to stop blade.

Cutting Modes: Install rear bag for collection; insert mulching plug for fine clippings; attach side discharge chute for spreading clippings.

Starting & Stopping

Starting Cold Engine:

  1. Check oil and fuel levels.
  2. Move throttle control to FAST position.
  3. Press primer bulb 3-5 times (cold engine only).
  4. Hold blade control bail against handle.
  5. Pull starter cord briskly until engine starts.

Stopping:

  1. Release blade control bail to stop blade.
  2. Move throttle to STOP position.
  3. Disconnect spark plug wire for safety during maintenance.

Tip: If engine floods, wait 5 minutes, then restart with throttle at FAST and no priming.

Cutting & Height Adjustment

For best results, mow when grass is dry.

  1. Adjust height: Move single lever to desired setting (1-6). All wheels adjust simultaneously.
  2. Select mode: Bag (attach bag), Mulch (install plug), Side Discharge (attach chute).
  3. Mowing pattern: Overlap each pass by 2-3 inches for even cut.
  4. Cutting height: Never remove more than 1/3 of grass blade length at one time.
  5. Sharp turns: Lift front slightly to pivot; avoid scalping.

WARNING! Always stop engine and wait for blade to stop completely before changing cutting mode or height.

  6. Store in a clean, dry place, covered.
